Family
Services Building
The Moses Lake Center is a large
new facility which houses Family
Planning, one Early
Head Start classroom, six Head
Start classrooms, and
the administrative offices for Family Services
of Grant County.
Completed in the fall of 2003,
it was the vision and determination of the Family
Services Board of Directors and Executive
Director, Denise Schmidt that
dreamed and built a facility
that would become a symbol of hope for children
and families. Their desire was to provide education
and treatment that will permit those who have not
had access to these services to come, receive what
they need, become more independent, and become
more interdependent community minded citizens.
Denise
would like to see, " its
gardens, its computer lab, its waiting rooms, its
clinic, even the art on the walls all say to those
who enter 'you are valued' and 'you, too, will
make a contribution to the life of Grant County'.
Each classroom in the Moses
Lake facility was purposely designed to establish
an environment for young children to enjoy exploring,
problem solving, reading, music, the arts, and
social interaction among other things. |
